Five years after selling its first T-shirts from a small studio in East London, about:blank arrived in Paris.
The moment was significant, but deliberately controlled. The brand had grown beyond the cropped, boxy T-shirts that first built its audience, developing a complete menswear wardrobe and a visual language rooted in product, interiors and music. Paris was not approached as a premature statement. About:blank waited until it had something coherent to present.
For its first Paris Fashion Week showroom, AMONT sourced a space at 16 rue des Coutures Saint-Gervais in the Marais and supported the project through the practical adjustments required to bring the presentation together.
Inside, about:blank translated its identity into a physical environment with unusual precision. Bespoke wooden rails were handmade in London and transported to Paris. Four coloured plinths represented the season’s palette. Vintage seating, stainless steel furniture and a carefully selected sound system created a space that felt more like the brand’s own world than a temporary showroom.
The balance was right. The collection remained central, but the environment gave it context. Product, furniture, colour and sound worked together without turning the presentation into an exercise in decoration.
For many visitors, this was their first physical interaction with about:blank. That made the showroom commercially important. Buyers were not simply discovering garments. They were assessing the maturity of the brand, the consistency of its positioning and its ability to exist beyond a digital audience.
The presentation also marked about:blank’s fifth anniversary. A limited T-shirt, inspired by a traditional French hotel luggage label, referenced the showroom address and carried the line “Five years and we’re in Paris”. More than merchandise, it became a record of the moment: five years of building before making the move to Paris.
What made the project convincing was not its scale, but its coherence. The showroom felt like a natural extension of the brand and gave its first Paris presentation a clear commercial purpose.
Recognising that the right physical framework was already in place, AMONT moved early to support the next chapter. The collaboration now continues as about:blank prepares its next Paris showroom, with the same objective: preserve the clarity of the brand while creating the right conditions for its retail development.
A strong showroom does not invent an identity. It makes an existing one tangible. About:blank’s Paris debut did exactly that.
