While the eyewear industry gathered in Paris for SILMO, RETROSUPERFUTURE chose a different setting for its presence in the city: 97 Rue de Turenne, in the heart of the Marais.
The project combined two uses under one roof. At street level, the space hosted a three-day private archive sale, with eyewear from RETROSUPERFUTURE and brands from its wider universe, including Marni, MM6 Maison Margiela and 8000.
Upstairs, the atmosphere shifted from retail to business, with a dedicated showroom for buyer and industry appointments throughout the week.
The setup was deliberately restrained. Stainless steel tables, white plinths, exposed stone and simple floral arrangements created a clean backdrop for the eyewear, letting the product and the architecture do most of the work.
A different way to be in Paris
For brands coming to Paris around a major trade show, being present does not necessarily mean being inside the fair.
A temporary space in the city can bring together appointments, presentation, retail and community in one location, while giving the brand full control over the environment and the experience.
In this case, Rue de Turenne offered exactly that: visibility at street level, a more private setting upstairs, and a central Marais location during one of the key moments of the international eyewear calendar.
