Vehicle-access event venues in Paris
A venue is not vehicle-accessible because a car appears in a photograph or a door looks wide. The proof is a continuous route from the legal street approach to the final display position: vehicle dimensions, mirrors, ramp angles, turning, floor construction, doors, protection, power or fuel conditions, public circulation and the exact exit sequence.
Four numbers are not enough
Dimensions must be tested dynamically.

Audit the route in sequence.
One failed transition invalidates the whole vehicle plan.
| Stage | Measure or confirm | Project consequence | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| Paris approach | Route restrictions, vehicle category, time, stopping and delivery conditions | Determines whether transporter and vehicle can legally reach the street | Current route plan |
| Kerb and threshold | Road width, reversing, pavement, slope, drainage and protected surfaces | Defines marshal, ramps and temporary protection | Site observation at relevant time |
| External opening | Clear width/height after hardware, posts and doors | Vehicle mirrors and steering may require more than body width | Measured aperture |
| Ramp or level change | Gradient, breakover, approach and departure angles | Low vehicles can ground despite sufficient door height | Model-specific geometry test |
| Turning and alignment | Wheelbase, steering lock, columns and manoeuvre area | Vehicle may enter but not reach or face the display mark | Swept-path plan |
| Floor | Total mass, axle loads, point loads and protection | Owner/engineer approval may limit vehicle and equipment | Written structural confirmation |
| Display state | Fuel/energy, battery, leaks, keys, immobilisation and barriers | Changes fire, security and public-interaction plan | Vehicle safety protocol |
| Exit | Reverse path, opening hours, public separation and transporter timing | A successful arrival does not guarantee removal | Signed exit schedule |
Separate three very different briefs.
Each creates a different venue search.
One vehicle as product or scenography
Focus on entry proof, final orientation, protection, light, visitor clearance and removal. The project may need little vehicle movement after installation but still needs keys, security and emergency rules.
Timed arrival or moving launch moment
Focus on rehearsal, driver, marshal, sightlines, sound, doors, guest barriers and a no-movement contingency. A dynamic reveal has higher operational dependency than a pre-positioned display.
Several vehicles or repeated movement
Focus on staging, sequencing, exterior holding, charging or refuelling policy, staff communications and public separation. The route must be proven for the largest and least manoeuvrable unit.
Vehicle access is a chain, not a feature.
The correct question is not “Can a car enter?” It is “Can this exact vehicle arrive, manoeuvre, remain, operate and leave under the approved conditions without damaging the building or compromising guests?”
Vehicle-access venue checklist.
Complete per vehicle, not per model family or marketing image.
This guide supports venue comparison but does not replace transport, traffic, structural, fire-safety or event-production advice.
Record a technical go/no-go before contracting.
A measured access drawing should identify the tightest point, responsible approver and fallback. Record assumptions separately so an untested street movement, transporter position or floor condition cannot silently become part of the event promise.
