AMONT · FASHION WEEK PRESS OPERATIONS

Plan a press showroom during Paris Fashion Week

A press showroom is not a wholesale showroom with more guests. Its job is to help journalists, editors, stylists, creators and production teams understand, document and use a collection. The venue must support product stories, images, interviews, controlled access and fast resets.

Four outcomes to define

The room follows the editorial objective.

01 · Story
What should press understand?
02 · Asset
What must be photographed?
03 · Access
Scheduled, open or hybrid?
04 · Follow-up
What leaves with each guest?

Translate the media plan into rooms and time.

Different press outcomes place different demands on the same venue.

Press objectiveOperating modelSpatial requirementEvidence before booking
Collection previewEditors and stylists review a coherent edit with brand or PR guidanceReadable collection sequence, honest light, handling space and secure sample controlSample volume, rails, category order and simultaneous appointments

Protect three different working environments.

They can share an address but should not compete for sound, product or staff.

Editorial

Collection story

The main presentation should make the message legible without a long explanation. Product groupings, captions, line sheets and lighting must agree.

Test · unaccompanied first read
Production

Images and interviews

A camera position, backdrop or interview corner needs acoustic control, power, working distance, equipment holding and a route that does not block arrivals.

Test · real camera + sound
Control

Samples and confidentiality

High-value, embargoed or loaned product needs named custody, secure reserve, a check-out process and staff who know what may be photographed or removed.

Schedule the newsroom effect, not only appointments.

Fashion Week creates late arrivals, schedule changes and competing demands. The run sheet should show priority media, spokespeople, collection readiness, interview ownership, content permissions and the next reset—not merely names and times.

01 · Priority
Rank the audienceDefine which meetings require a spokesperson, private room or protected time.
02 · Buffer
Absorb schedule driftKeep interview and high-priority slots from collapsing after one late arrival.
03 · Permission
Control captureBrief staff on embargoes, image areas, credits, samples and release requirements.
04 · Follow
Close the media actionRecord requested assets, loans, interview notes and responsible follow-up before reset.

Press showroom readiness checklist.

Run it with PR, production and the venue—not only the sales team.

Define the media objective, priority contacts and success evidence.
Separate collection presentation, interviews, content capture, hospitality and sample control.
Map arrival peaks, accreditation, waiting, coats, credentials and discreet exits.
Test daylight, final artificial light, camera angles, sound, power and internet.
Create a secure reserve and sample check-in/check-out method.
Issue embargo, photography, credit, spokesperson and approval rules to every staff member.
Book the full installation, test, live, removal and handover occupation.
Prepare a disruption plan for late media, missing product, equipment failure or interview overrun.

DO NOT REPRESENT PRESS ATTENDANCE OR COVERAGE AS GUARANTEED. THE VENUE SUPPORTS THE MEDIA PROGRAMME; INVITATIONS, EDITORIAL INTEREST AND FOLLOW-UP REMAIN SEPARATE WORKSTREAMS.
