Operational venue visit checklist for Paris
A venue visit should answer the questions that photographs cannot: how guests find the door, what area is truly usable, how product and suppliers enter, whether light, sound and services work, what the property permits and what must be restored at exit.
Four things to bring
Memory is not evidence.

Visit in the order the project will operate.
A consistent route makes options easier to compare.
| Visit stage | Inspect | Test | Record |
|---|---|---|---|
| Street + arrival | Address legibility, pavement, queue, taxis/VTC, neighbours, façade and signage positions | Approach as a first-time guest and supplier at relevant hours | Arrival instructions, restrictions, photographs and unresolved permissions |
| Threshold + reception | Door, step, width, shutter, security, keys, sightlines and waiting | Two arrivals, a delivery and a host position simultaneously | Clear dimensions, accessibility question and reception zone |
| Public / buyer route | Usable walls, rooms, columns, stairs, exits, toilets, daylight, sound and congestion | Walk the actual presentation, retail or guest sequence | Zone plan, capacity assumptions and weak crossings |
| Technical + services | Power, distribution, internet, water, heating/cooling, light, sound, equipment and building staff | Speed test where permitted, outlets, final light positions and service access | Current technical pack, test results, inclusions and specialists required |
| Back-of-house | Storage, kitchen, fitting, office, staff, waste, cleaning, valuables and replenishment | Move the largest recurring product route to the floor | Usable support area and operating responsibilities |
| Delivery + exit | Street stop, door, turns, lift, stairs, protection, removal and handover | Measure the largest packed item through the least forgiving point | End-to-end access sheet and contingency |
Use three evidence classes.
This stops verbal reassurance from becoming a false fact.
Measured or tested on site
Dimensions, route, light at that time, visible condition and test results should include date, method and any limitation.
Confirmed by current property material
Plans, technical schedules, capacity, inventories, rules and commercial terms need a current version and source.
Requires owner or specialist confirmation
Permitted use, structural load, public conditions, works, power capacity or exceptional access should remain questions until resolved.
Do not let the strongest room consume the visit.
Teams often spend their time admiring the principal space and rush the stairs, toilets, reserve, loading and exit—the exact areas that later damage budget and operations. Allocate time to the weak infrastructure deliberately.

Copy this into the visit sheet and adapt it to the brief.
After the visit, update the shortlist the same day. A question without an owner and deadline is not a control; it is a deferred surprise.
Public formats requiring different visit tests.
These public pages illustrate format and location. They are not availability statements or AMONT's complete inventory.
Store 62 Charlot
A white-box corner format with extensive street glazing for compact public activations, press days and showroom crossover.
Dupetit-Thouars Loft
A bright two-level showroom with skylight daylight and several access points, useful for collection zoning and appointment circulation.
Showroom Louvre
A central gallery format with long frontage, raw stone structure and a controlled setting for presentations and press-facing projects.
Showroom République
Large-scale industrial architecture with skylights, high ceilings and the production logic required by ambitious installations.
Continue with the next decision.
Use the guide that matches the next operational choice.
Source note · verified 4 September 2026. This checklist was checked against the AMONT venue sourcing guide and current French public guidance covering the ERP definition, ERP fire-safety rules and ERP accessibility. Property-specific compliance still requires current documents and qualified review.
Visit to decide, not to collect impressions.
AMONT can organise a qualified comparison across the public portfolio and, when the brief requires it, the Private Network; the project team should bring the right operational and technical decision-makers to the visit.
