AMONT · FINAL-EXIT CONTROL

Dismantling, final exit and waste removal checklist

The project does not end when the last guest leaves. Samples, furniture, technical equipment, vinyl, fixings, packaging, catering waste, cleaning, repairs, keys and deposit evidence still remain. Build the dismantling in removal order and leave time for an empty-room inspection before the contractual deadline.

Four close-out owners

Each needs a name, slot and acceptance criterion.

Large Paris venue requiring a sequenced dismantling and final handover
Showroom République · public AMONT example · scale makes removal order, vehicles, waste and hard exit especially important

Remove in dependency order.

The exact sequence changes by project, but the handover standard must be protected from late suppliers.

PhaseTypical scopeRelease conditionCommon failure
1 · Product and valuablesSamples, stock, documents, devices, personal items and cash equipmentInventory closed and transport custody acceptedCleaners or builders work around unsecured product
2 · TechnicalAV, lighting, cables, power distribution, speakers and riggingSystems isolated safely and venue equipment identifiedA supplier removes venue property or leaves unsafe cables
3 · Furniture and buildRails, tables, plinths, temporary walls, graphics and protectionAll client fixtures gone without new surface damageRemoval teams collide because vehicle and lift slots overlap
4 · Graphics and adhesivesWindow vinyl, wall graphics, tape, labels and wayfindingResidue removed using approved methodFinal-hour scraping damages glass, paint or stone
5 · Waste and packagingSeparated materials, food waste, consumables, pallets and casesApproved collector or documented route completedBags remain in a courtyard, pavement or building bins
6 · Clean, restore and hand overCleaning, repairs, repainting where agreed, photographs, inspection and keysNamed written acknowledgment and open-issue recordThe team leaves before the venue is empty and accepted

Protect the hard exit from three predictable failures.

They are scheduling problems that later appear as deposit disputes.

Supplier

No single removal controller

Every supplier sees only its own collection. Assign one person to control access, dependencies, condition, waste and the moment each team is released.

Control · master run sheet
Time

Cleaning starts too early

A final clean completed while furniture, vinyl or stock remains will need to be repeated. Sequence clean after dirty work and reserve a touch-up window.

Control · clean release
Evidence

Keys returned without closure

Photograph the final empty condition, count keys, record meter or alarm points where relevant and list any unresolved issue before the team disperses.

Control · signed handover

Waste is a production stream, not the cleaner's surprise.

Identify materials before the build: cardboard, plastic, metal, wood, glass, textile, plaster, food, electronics and mixed residual waste may require different separation and collection. The producer remains responsible for organising an appropriate route.

01 · Forecast
List materials and volumesAsk designers, caterers, printers and builders what enters and what becomes waste.
02 · Prevent
Plan return and reuseSupplier take-back, reusable cases and modular furniture can reduce final removal pressure.
03 · Separate
Provide labelled holdingKeep waste streams organised without blocking circulation, exits or common areas.
04 · Record
Keep collection evidenceRetain provider, pickup, transfer or acceptance information appropriate to the project.

Dismantling and final-exit checklist.

Issue it to the project lead before installation—not on the last afternoon.

Copy the contractual hard-exit time, access rules, cleaning standard and reinstatement obligations.
Create one removal sequence covering product, technical, furniture, graphics, waste and cleaning.
Assign a named controller, venue contact and supplier arrival/departure slots.
Book vehicles, lifts, doors, floor protection and approved loading arrangements.
Identify waste streams, holding areas, take-back, collector and required records.
Remove adhesives and fixings using approved methods before the final clean.
Inspect and repair agreed surfaces, then photograph the complete empty condition.
Count keys, record unresolved issues and confirm deposit administration in writing.

Professional-waste rules and the venue contract must be checked for each project. AMONT guidance does not replace a qualified waste provider, contractual duties or site-specific instructions.
