AMONT · VENUE CLOSE-OUT OPERATIONS

Cleaning, waste and reinstatement after a Paris venue rental

Close-out should be designed before installation. Cleaning, waste removal, deinstallation and reinstatement are separate workstreams with different labour, timing and evidence. If they are left to the final hours, a successful event can end with a delayed handover or disputed condition.

Four close-out plans

They overlap in time but should not be merged into one vague supplier line.

01 · Remove
Product, build and equipment
02 · Sort
Reuse, recycle and waste
03 · Restore
Walls, floors and fixtures
04 · Prove

Separate the close-out workstreams.

Each team needs a scope, start condition, deadline and accountable lead.

Plan waste from purchasing and build decisions.

The cheapest waste is the material that never enters the venue or can leave through a reuse route.

Prevent

Specify reusable and returnable systems

Ask suppliers how cases, rails, graphics, furniture, protective materials and unopened consumables return to stock. Record ownership before installation.

Decision · destination before delivery
Separate

Create streams at the point of use

Back-of-house sorting is more reliable than reopening mixed bags during removal. Label containers and protect enough holding area for the largest expected volume.

Decision · stream + container + owner
Collect

Book the professional route

City of Paris guidance distinguishes professional waste obligations and service thresholds. Large or specialist volumes may require an appropriate private collection; verify current rules for the actual producer and material.

Decision · approved collection plan
AMONT field position

The final inspection should find answers, not surprises.

Use the entry record, approved installation details and written return standard as the inspection frame. Complete supplier collections before cleaning, complete repairs before final cleaning where practical, and preserve a recovery window before the contractual handover.

01 · Sequence
Remove in dependency orderProtect floors and routes while technical, scenic, furniture and stock teams work.
02 · Inspect
Create an early defect listWalk the venue before the cleaners leave so missing repairs or abandoned items can still be addressed.
03 · Evidence
Photograph comparable viewsUse the same rooms, surfaces and details as the entry record, with timestamps and issue notes.
04 · Close
Record acceptance or actionsName outstanding work, responsible party, deadline, access and the evidence required for closure.

Cleaning and reinstatement checklist.

Issue it with supplier orders and the venue contract schedule.

Translate the property return standard into a room-by-room checklist.
Inventory all product, equipment, furniture, graphics, fixings and packaging entering the venue.
Assign reuse, return, recycling, professional collection or disposal routes before installation.
Protect waste holding and supplier movement from guests, neighbours and common areas.
Sequence stock, technical, scenic and furniture removal before final cleaning and inspection.
Reserve repair materials, skilled labour and a contingency window for walls, floors and fixtures.
Photograph the completed venue against the entry record and approved works.
Complete a joint handover; record accepted condition and any outstanding action in writing.

DO NOT USE RESIDENTIAL OR PUBLIC-PAVEMENT DISPOSAL ROUTES BY ASSUMPTION. VERIFY CURRENT CITY OF PARIS PROFESSIONAL-WASTE RULES, PROPERTY CONDITIONS AND THE APPROPRIATE COLLECTOR FOR EACH WASTE STREAM.
